Farmers launch campaign to bridge urban-rural divide

Recent research commissioned by the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) found that rural and city people share the same values, yet two thirds of Australians feel like they have no connection to farmers or rural Australia. “It was acutely import­ant to us, not just to act on gut feel or anecdotal information, but, using scientific research methods, to ask the Australian community for their perception of farming and agriculture,” NFF president Fiona Simson.

Support for Australian mining on the rise

Results from a recent JWS Research survey show support has risen across the board for Australian mining, with opposition to the minerals industry falling to its lowest level in recent years. JWS Research has conducted multiple waves of benchmark and tracking research for the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), with recent results showing that net favourability for mining has risen while opposition falls.
