Millennials COVID-19

Eight in ten Australians (83%) are concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic, including almost half (48%) who are extremely or very concerned and Millennials (aged 18-34 years) are experiencing the most anxiety over COVID-19, recording significantly higher levels of concern across most of the impacts measured.

True Issues is a research tool to assist Australian businesses to understand where their issues truly sit within the contemporary issues landscape. This poll was conducted as an online survey between 1st – 5th July among a representative national sample of 1,000 Australians aged 18+ years.

Most Australians are concerned about the impact of the  COVID-19 pandemic on the Australian economy (90%), including a majority, who are extremely or very concerned about this impact (60%).

Other leading concerns for the majority of Australians:

  • the impact on trade with other countries (75%)
  • another lockdown due to a second wave (74%)
  • family or close friends getting infected (72%)
  • not being able to visit family and friends (69%)
  • the ability of the health system to cope (69%)
